A calico cat appeared on the giant billboard at Shinjuku East Exit, overlooking an intersection packed with plastic umbrellas.
The cat, usually charming, seemed to gaze down coldly at the crowd in this moment alone, slightly shifting the city's reality.
The uniformity of the umbrellas and the accidental alignment of the gaze combined to create a single image etching an alien presence into everyday life.
新宿東口の巨大広告に現れた三毛猫と、ビニール傘で埋め尽くされた交差点。
